Nestled in the heart of the scenic Driftless Area in SE Minnesota, just a few miles from the Mississippi River, Hokyoji makes an ideal base camp for outdoor adventurers. With many beautiful public lands and trail systems close by, Hokyoji offers access to wonderful opportunities for cyclists, hikers, campers, bird watchers, and paddlers to explore the unique environments of the Driftless.

Enjoy a beautiful sunrise over breakfast at Mauss Hall before continuing on your journey. Or stay with us a while, wander Hokyoji’s trails, head off-campus to explore the local sights, then return for a barbecue on the patio. Far from city lights, Hokyoji is ideal for stargazing and campfire stories. During your stay in our comfortable guest house, you will have access to our meditation hall, and a meeting center providing ample space for indoor activities, complete with a commercial kitchen. Hokyoji is nature-focused, but equipped to meet modern needs—Wi-Fi is available throughout our main campus, and both the meditation hall and the meeting center are outfitted for Zoom and other teleconferencing applications. Hokyoji’s tranquil meadows, woodlands, and bluffs offer guests a peaceful setting that invites relaxation, inspiration, and renewal.

Hokyoji can accommodate journeys of all shapes and sizes, from overnight to longer stays, for individuals and groups. Pricing is $75 per guest for one night.  For group rentals, a one-time $325 facility fee will reserve the entire campus for your group, with a slightly reduced price then per person.  (For small groups or overnights, the facility fee can be waived). Bring your own food, or talk with us about options for meal service. Camping on-site is also available for a reduced price. Please inquire to see which pricing model best fits your needs.
