| Doing kinhin around the zendo |
Over the last few years many of us have reminisced about our days at Hokyoji. It is a bond we share. Now, however,
it's time to look to the future of the larger regional and even worldwide sangha and the future of the place we call Hokyoji.
Where else can we come together as members of various sanghas, learning from each other and enjoying connections we didn’t
know we had? Where else can we touch the roots of the practice that founder Dainin Katagiri-roshi brought to the Midwest?
Where else can we settle into the embrace of the natural world and have our practice nourished in a way that no city center
can?
As a member of the Hokyoji community, you find yourself with a direct connection to the place and the practice that has
gone on there for so many years. You find you have a voice in how the community goes forward and many opportunities
to contribute to the effort. And, most of all, you find as you walk the land, even if for the first time, that you have
come home.
Please contribute as generously as you can to help launch this new phase in the history of Hokyoji. Your contribution
will provide funds for maintenance, utilities and other items necessary to Hokyoji's functioning as well as a modest stipend
for our resident teacher Dokai Georgesen.
Hokyoji Zen Practice Community is developing new life and new depth of practice, and we invite you to participate with
us as we go forward. Come and help the dharma flourish by joining the effort to uncover this precious Jewel Mirror in
the bluff country of southeastern Minnesota.
To join us as a member or friend, please print out the form below and return it to us with
your gift. To make arrangements to contribute a full day or work, please contact resident teacher Dokai Georgesen.
