Friday, May 16 ─ Monday, May 26
Participate in all or any part of the event. Cost: donations accepted
We’ll begin our 10 day work practice period with zazen followed by a short service. Meals will be informal
and we’ll work seven to eight hours a day. The evening schedule may vary according to need and circumstances.
Activities might include zazen, a dharma talk or just sitting around the campfire if the weather permits.
This is a good opportunity for beginners to Zen practice to come together and to spend time
sitting, working and sharing with more senior practitioners. Zazen instruction will be offered to those who request
it.
Please note: The weather at this time of year can vary from very hot to rainy and cold. Please come
prepared for a wide range of conditions.
Participation is limited and
reservations must be made in advance. To register, please e-mail us or call us at (507) 542-4968.

This spring Hokyoji has the good fortune of having Jim Summers return
to lead us in a staining project that we began last autumn. We’ll be concentrating on finishing the storage shed
and the main cottage. Other projects will include attending to the garden and grounds and cleaning and organizing the
interiors of our buildings.
